Connecticut 6 Hour Real Estate Mandatory CE Package

Both required core courses real estate licensees in Connecticut must complete toward license renewal, Connecticut Real Estate Agency Law Review & Fair Housing 1 and 2, are combined in this 6 hour package for the 2018-2020 license period.
Each course begins with a series of slides provided verbatim by the University of Connecticut at the request of the Connecticut Real Estate Commission. Then we will explain the key concepts in greater depth with reference to their corresponding state and federal statutes or rules.
First is a three hour course on Agency Law, where licensee duties, disclosure forms, types of agency, assistance agreements, and certain prohibitions will be analyzed. Learn the particular requirements and allowances of dual agency and designated agency in Connecticut. Differentiate between a customer and client, then familiarize yourself with the contracts and disclosures of real estate agency law in the state.
Next is another three hour course on Fair Housing history, legislation, and terminology. The bulk of the course deals with the differences between the federal and state standards of fair housing practices. Other topics covered in this course are proper security deposit charging and handling, advertising rules, and the limitations to approved compensation.
After each lesson, students will be asked a single question about the material. Videos and images are utilized throughout the course to aid visual and auditory learning styles. Four incremental quizzes and two final exams will test the student's knowledge. Successful completion of all material will unlock the Certificates needed for license renewal.
