Late CE: 1 Hour DC SAFE 2021 State Law Course (12930)
- 1 Hour Course
This course is designed to address your 2021 Late CE needs.
This 1 hour course on DC-specific continuing education fulfills the state elective requirement for annual renewal. Licensed mortgage loan originators in the District of Columbia must take a total of 8 hours each year, with 3 hours being dedicated to Federal law, 2 hours of ethics, 2 hours of non-traditional mortgage lending, and 1 hour of state-specific content.
The course begins with a review of information on licensing and the adoption of the Mortgage Broker and Lender Amendment Act of 2009, then moves on to cover a variety of regulations with which licensed mortgage loan originators must comply. Such topics include the DC Official Code’s prohibited practices and the DC Municipal Regulations on license renewal, annual reporting, and lock-in agreements.
Students will also learn about the current status of implementation of Electronic Surety Bonds (ESB) by the NMLS, and will understand the process of using ESBs to prepare them for the transition toward full adoption by the District.
To promote comprehension, students will complete a 5-question quiz and short activity after each module. A 15-question final exam will wrap up the course.
