This 8-hour course is designed to meet the continuing education needs required for all Montana mortgage loan originators (MLOs), covering both the federal aspects of mortgage loan origination, as well as Missouri-specific laws, regulations, and procedures. Among the crucial subjects touched on in this course are in-depth looks into the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act), Montana's own version of the SAFE Act, ethics for MLOs, lending standards for non-traditional mortgages, subprime and high cost loans, and updated laws and regulations. Plus, we provide a look into regulatory agency enforcement powers in mortgage loan origination. And, we'll take a look at some of the changes made to the Truth-In-Lending-Act and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (TILA-RESPA) Integrated Mortgage Disclosure Act (TRID) that have a direct impact on the Montana real estate industry.
