CE Requirements to Renew a NM Mortgage Loan Originator License


In the state of New Mexico MLO license holders must obtain 8 total hours that consist of:

  • 3 Hours of Federal Law Updates
  • 2 Hours of Ethics, Fraud, Consumer Protection, & Fair Lending
  • 2 Hours of Non-Traditional Mortgage Products
  • 1 Hour of NM Law

MLO licensees who did not complete their education before December 31st are required to take Late CE. Licensees must take late CE for each year they have missed.

8 Hour SAFE Core and New Mexico Law 2019 MLO Package

8 Hour Course $ 70.00

This 8 hour package for mortgage loan originators in New Mexico is designed to provide all of the mandatory education needed to renew your MLO license. This course will address a variety of topics including:

  • federal lending laws such as the SAFE Act
  • ECOA and the TILA-RESPA Rule
  • ethics, fraud, and non-traditional mortgage loan products
  • the New Mexico Statutes
  • the New Mexico Administrative Code
  • licensing requirements and definitions
  • general MLO practices and prohibited practices

Late CE: National Requirements (7904)

8 Hour Course $ 45.00

This is the 2018 Late CE course. This is only for licensees who failed to complete the CE required for their 2018 renewal during the 2018 calendar year.

Licensees who hold a Mortgage Loan Originator license are required to obtain continuing education in order to renew that license. This course covers the National Requirements which consist of:

  • 3 Hours of Federal Law Updates
  • 2 Hours of Ethics, Fraud, Consumer Protection, & Fair Lending
  • 2 Hours of Non-Traditional Mortgage Products

 

This course does not cover the state specific content. You will need to purchase a second class in order to fulfill that requirement.


7 Hour SAFE Core 2019 MLO CE New Mexico

7 Hour Course $ 45.00

This 7 hour course of instruction for mortgage loan originators in New Mexico is designed to provide the mandatory Core education on mortgage lending, reverse mortgages, and the federal regulations governing MLOs. This course will address a variety of topics including:

  • Federal lending laws such as the SAFE Act
  • ECOA and the TILA-RESPA Rule
  • Ethics, fraud, and non-traditional mortgage loan products

Late CE 1 Hour NM SAFE 2018 State Law Course (10120)

1 Hour Course $ 30.00

This is the 2018 Late CE course. This is only for licensees who failed to complete the CE required for their 2018 renewal during the 2018 calendar year.

This is a 1 hour course that covers the required 1 hour state specific content, specified by the NMLS. It?s been designed with the student in mind, making for a quick, informative class with engaging content. In the course, the student will learn about topics like the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act) regulations, New Mexico license law and administrations, the practice of loan origination, prohibitions and violations, the three elements of fraud, the hearing process, and more. This class satisfies the 1 hour portion of the MLO?s continuing education requirements.


1 Hour NM SAFE 2019 State Law Course

1 Hour Course $ 30.00

Taking this course will satisfy the 1-hour state-specific elective requirement for licensed New Mexico mortgage loan originators. This class counts toward the total 8 hours of required annual continuing education. The course will review:
