Texas 3 Hour Real Estate Contracts Course
This approved Texas real estate CE course fulfills 3 out the 18 hours required to renew your license as well as the Contracts requirement. Topics of interest include such items as key terms, governing bodies, contracts used in real estate, buyer agency agreements, and lease agreements.
Texas 1 Hour Fair Housing
This class will provide licensees with 1 hour of continuing education to apply to their Texas real estate license. Subjects covered include the history of unfair housing practices that led to fair housing legislation, as well as some of the most recent executive orders regarding fair housing.
Texas 18 Hour Complete Sales Agent CE Package 2
This 18 hour package contains everything you need to complete your CE requirements! Along with 8 hours of 2020 legal updates, you'll learn about Fair Housing regulations, property encumbrances, and different sources of financing to advise your clients on.
Texas 18 Hour Complete Broker CE Package
This 18 hour package fulfills all of your continuing education requirements for renewing your Texas broker license. In the package, we spend 8 hours on the 2020 legal updates, 6 hours on broker responsibility, 3 hours on contracts, and the final hour on fair housing.
Once you’re finished, you’ll have gone through all 18 hours of training to renew your license, all at your own pace!
Texas 18 Hour Complete Sales Agent CE Package
Complete your CE requirements easily with this total package! It includes 18 hours of TREC-approved and required classes. In addition to 8 hours of 2020 legal updates, we'll also discuss the ins and outs of working in a real estate brokerage, and 3 hours on contracts, which will satisfy your contracts requirement.
Texas 9 Hour Electives Course
This 9 hour course is approved by the state of Texas to satisfy half of the CE requirements for current licensees.
The course will cover a number of topics relating to the practice of real estate, including legal descriptions, encumbrances, titles and recordation, assessment and taxation, valuation, sources of financing, and more.
Texas 6 Hour Broker Responsibility
This 6 hour course will fulfill your continuing education requirements for broker responsibility training, which will cover one third of the 18 hour CE requirement for license holders. This course will address the regulatory aspects of the management, operation, and supervision of a real estate brokerage firm in Texas.
Texas 9 Hour Real Estate Essentials Package
This 9 hour package of educational content is designed to provide Texas real estate professionals with an overview of important topics and concepts. This package covers topics such as the provisions of the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics, mathematics and real estate calculations, contracts, professional real estate activities, escrow, the closing process, and comparative market analyses.
Texas 7 Hour Elective: Running a Brokerage
This 7 hour course will knock out part of the CE requirements for licensees practicing real estate in Texas, and is perfect for ambitious licensees looking to manage a brokerage in the future.
Topics we'll cover in this course include the supervision and management of a real estate office, and the employees that an office requires. We'll also talk about the development of an office manual and policies, appropriate advertising, and how to keep financial records.
Texas 7 Hour Real Estate Business Practices
This 7 hour package of educational content is designed to provide Texas real estate professionals with an overview of important topics and concepts related to the management of a real estate business. This topics covered in this package generally fall into three areas: management of real estate business, recordkeeping, and safety when showing a property.
Texas 4 Hour 2020-2021 MCE Legal Updates Part 1
Real estate license holders in Texas must be apprised of recent changes to state and federal real estate regulations with this Legal Updates course. This 4 hour continuing education course is part 1 of a two part set required for license renewal in 2020-2021.
Core topics include: changes to Texas codes, standardized contracts and disclosure forms, review of licensee limitations, water damage and flooding issues, and tenant selection procedures.
Texas 4 Hour 2020-2021 MCE Legal Updates Part 2
The second half of the legal updates that real estate license holders in Texas must be apprised of center around ethics requirements, intermediary duties, rebates and referral fees, advertising issues, title issues, and RESPA compliance. This 4 hour continuing education course completes a two part set required for license renewal in 2020-2021 about recent changes to state and federal real estate regulations.
Texas 3 Hour Agent Safety Course
This 3 hour course is approved by Texas to meet part of your continuing education requirements. In this course, we'll focus on the important topic of licensee safety. This includes how to identify threats and stay safe during showings, as well as liability considerations and how to keep yourself protected against liability.
Texas Real Estate License Renewal Dates and Continuing Education Requirements
In Texas, real estate licensees must renew their license every two years, by the end of the month in which their license was first issued. To do this, they must complete the Texas real estate continuing education requirements before their license is due to be renewed.
Real estate agents and brokers must complete 18 hours of CE. Different licenses have different CE requirements. These are listed below.
Real estate agents must complete:
- Eight total hours of Legal Update I (Laws, Rules and Forms) and II (Agency, Ethics, Hot Topics) courses
- 10 hours of other electives
Any agent who has been a supervisor for at least six months must complete the same requirements as a broker.
Brokers must complete:
- Eight hours of Legal Update courses
- Six hours of Broker Responsibility
- Four hours of other electives
If you have a broker license and a salesperson license and must renew them prior to February 1, 2021, you need to complete:
- Four hours of Legal Update I
- Four hours of Legal Update II
- 10 hours of other electives
A salesperson and broker licensee renewing after February 1, 2021 must complete:
- Three hours of Contracts
- Four hours of Legal Update I
- Four hours of Legal Update II
- Seven hours of other electives
Students who finish the Contracts course prior to February 1, 2021 will still have the course reported as complete even if they must renew after that date.
Any designated broker licensees who are renewing their licenses before February 1, 2021 must complete:
- Four hours of Legal Update I
- Four hours of Legal Update II
- Six hours of Broker Responsibility
- Four hours of electives
Any designated broker licensee renewing their license after February 21, 2021 must complete:
- Three hours of Contracts
- Four hours of Legal Update I
- Four hours of Legal Update II
- Six hours of Broker Responsibility
- One hour of other electives
Students who finish the Contracts course prior to February 1, 2021 will still have the course reported as complete even if they must renew after that date.
Rules for Repeating a Course for Brokers, Salespersons, and Designated Brokers
In Texas, no student may repeat any CE course for credit more than once per renewal period. This also applies to licenses renewed late or licensees who are returning their licenses to active status. Late renewals and reactivations may not include repeated CE courses for credit in the two years prior to the renewal or reactivation.
