Salesperson Real Estate Continuing Education Package

Effective January 1, 2025, Arizona real estate salespersons will be required to complete one hour each of the following subjects: Firewise, Arizona Water, and Deed Fraud. This comprehensive package includes all the necessary courses to meet these new requirements for license renewal. The courses provided are as follows: 3 hours of Legal Issues, 3 hours of Fair Housing, 3 hours of Disclosure, 3 hours of Contract Law, 3 hours of Commissioner's Standards, 3 hours of Farm Brokerage, and 1 hour each of Firewise, Arizona Water, and Deed Fraud.

Agency Law

This class on Agency for Real Estate agents is approved by the Arizona Real Estate Department for continuing education requirements. The law requires 24 hours of continuing education credits be taken during each 24 month period of licensure.

This class on agency begins with short overview of the class and where it will go, and then moves into the basic concept and history of agency in general, while at the same time giving attention to the legal foundations for agency. It will then provide information as to who may be parties to an agency and the relationship between the parties. A more in-depth look at the agency relationship will then be explored, including types of authority and types of agency. The student will then learn of the responsibilities that are a part of agency, such as responsibilities to which parties, as well as how agency relationships may be terminated.

After this, the student will moved into an explanation of agency specifically within the real estate industry. This will include subjects such as agency relationships with clients, as well as non-agency relationship and types of services an agent may provide.

Finally, the instruction will conclude with a short segment dealing with the function of agency within property management settings.

Farm Brokerage

This three-hour course provides Arizona real estate agents comprehensive instruction in managing farm and ranch properties effectively. Participants will explore brokerage strategies, contract negotiation and valuation while learning about land and water rights, zoning, and financing essential to rural sales.

Upon course completion, students will be able to:

  • Describe the differences between agricultural and traditional real estate transactions and the unique challenges associated with rural brokerage
  • Address the financial and emotional complexities involved in farm and ranch real estate transactions
  • Identify factors that can impact the value of a farm or ranch property, like soil quality, water resources, crop yield and livestock production
  • Analyze the different valuation methods used for farm and ranch properties, including the Cost, Income and Sales Comparison Approaches
  • Understand how environmental laws can affect farm and ranch property value
  • Interpret and draft agricultural contracts, including clauses related to water, mineral and crop rights
