How Do You Get a Texas-OCCC MLO License?

Basic Requirements for Becoming an MLO in Texas

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) to obtain your NMLS ID number

TX-OCCC MLO License Overview

There are two types of MLO licenses in Texas: TX-SML and TX-OCCC.

According to NMLS, individuals who take a residential mortgage loan application or who offer or negotiate the terms of a residential mortgage loan for compensation or gain are required to have a TX MLO license.

The TX-OCCC MLO license focuses on:
