This three-hour elective class covers safety concerns which arise for real estate professionals when showing a property or conducting an open house and the numerous hazards for which they must take precautions. It will discuss the different types of dangers and unsafe circumstances that a licensee may encounter, emphasizing safety techniques and practices that will help to protect licensees, clients, and the property itself.
The class concludes with a survey of professional insurance and liability coverages for licensees.
Outline:
Lesson 1: Identifying Threats (property damage, theft, assault, and scams) & How to Protect Yourself, Others, and the Property
Lesson 2: Before, During, and After the Showing, including meeting clients, going to the showing, initial walkthrough, actions that enhance safety, in case of emergency, final walkthrough, and securing the property
Lesson 3: Liability and Insurance, including the different types of liability, principles of insurance, the risks that liability insurance covers, and how to choose appropriate policies
