Pennsylvania Real Estate License Renewal Dates and Continuing Education Requirements
Most licensees are required to take 14 hours of Continuing Education by May 31st of even numbered years.
The exact topics those hours need to cover vary depending on whether it’s your first renewal or any renewal after that.
For the 2020-2022 renewal period, the special Mandatory Topic is:
- 3.5 hours on Fair Housing, which includes the topics of
- Redlining,
- Steering,
- Implicit Bias,
- Diversity, and
- the Fair Housing Act
First-time PA real estate license renewals
To make sure you’ve got a good foundation as you build your real estate career, the Real Estate Commission has a very specific breakdown of how you need to use your first 14 CE hours. Seven of the hours will focus on general real estate topics, while the other seven hours will focus on your core work, whether that’s residential or commercial real estate.
All renewals after that
After your first renewal, the CE requirements get less stringent. That said, the Real Estate Commission can designate special mandatory topics. For the 2018-2020 renewal cycle, for example, they required two hours on advertising and an hour on property management.
This time around, as mentioned above, the state is mandating that three-and-a-half of your 14 hours focus on the Fair Housing Act, redlining, steering, implicit bias, and diversity.
All of our courses are 100% Approved, Online and At Your Own Pace. We also provide a certificate of completion for your records.
