This course is perfect for Oregon brokers who have mastered the basics, and want a simple solution to their CE needs.
The course begins by reviewing the ever-important concept of ethics: what they are, why they matter, and how they factor into the practice of real estate. We'll discuss ethical situations in real estate and how to handle them.
Next, we'll jump into a review of the fair housing laws that real estate licensees must know and abide by. This includes a history of the struggle for fair housing and various related legislation.
We'll also cover some essential property management topics that real estate licensee should know, including landlord-tenant relations, financial records, and recordkeeping standards.
A primer on the basics of accounting is also included, as practicing real estate is working for yourself - and therefore managing your own business accounts! Then, we'll review the nature of agency relationships and the duties of the parties to an agency agreement.
After a review of the most-used real estate contracts (listing, buyer-broker, and tenant representation), we'll end the course with a discussion of the serious problem of misrepresentation and negligence. This is followed by a final exam of 60 questions, to ensure students' retention of the covered topics.
