Late CE: 1 Hour PA SAFE 2020 State Law Course (12062)

  • 1 Hour Course
  • $30.00

This course is designed to address your 2020 Late CE needs.

This 1-hour course on Pennsylvania laws and regulations fulfills the state elective requirement for annual renewal. Licensed mortgage loan originators in the state must take 8 hours of continuing education each year, with 3 hours being dedicated to Federal law, 2 hours of ethics, 2 hours of non-traditional mortgage lending, and this 1 hour of state-specific content.

We will start the class with a review of continuing education requirements and an orientation to the class topics and organization. After a brief review of State Regulation of MLOs, Violations, and Prohibited Conduct, there is a survey of the changes made to the Mortgage Licensing Act by SB 751 (Act 81), including a discussion of the Growth of Non-Bank Servicing, Acts Permitted and Prohibited for Mortgage Servicers, License/Licensee Requirements, and Licensing Exceptions, and Licensing Fees. This class finishes with recent developments of interest to MLOs, including Predatory Lending Laws, Reverse Mortgages, Mortgage Loan Modification and recent modification scams, enforcement action for violation of the new mortgage servicer license requirement, and recent revisions to real estate appraiser licensing.

To promote comprehension, students will complete a 5-question quiz and short activity after each module. A 15-question final exam will wrap up the course.
