This 20-hour continuing education package for real estate practitioners in Alaska will satisfy the requirement for license renewal in 2022. The Alaska Real Estate Commission and Association of Real Estate Law Officials dictate licensees be updated and refreshed on important issues in the many categories of the real estate industry. Our course will begin with an exploration into broker supervision and management, followed by a 20-question exam. Next is a review of ethical decision making and how to comply with ethical standards in one’s day to day business practice. Another 20-question exam will then commence to test comprehension.
Part three of the eight-hour designated core requirement will focus on prohibited conduct, examining copyright infringement, misrepresentation, negligence, fraud, and more. After the third incremental exam, part four will delve into social media and advertising, including what risks and pitfalls to avoid. A final 20-question exam will conclude the core requirement.
For the elective credits, licensees will review Alaska’s licensing laws, then pick apart the lengthy Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act. Because these next two areas of practice are of great concern to the state, consumer protection and ethics are examined from a different angle. Finally, strategy, risk, reward, law, and theory in real estate investment are considered.
