This class on agency begins with short overview of the class and where it will go, and then moves into the basic concept and history of agency in general, while at the same time giving attention to the legal foundations for agency. It will then provide information as to who may be parties to an agency and the relationship between the parties. A more in-depth look at the agency relationship will then be explored, including types of authority and types of agency. The student will then learn of the responsibilities that are a part of agency, such as responsibilities to which parties, as well as how agency relationships may be terminated.
After this, the student will moved into an explanation of agency specifically within the real estate industry. This will include subjects such as agency relationships with clients, as well as non-agency relationship and types of services an agent may provide.
Finally, the instruction will conclude with a short segment dealing with the function of agency within property management settings.
