This 12-hour course package will fulfill all of your required CE hours to to continue practicing real estate in Connecticut! The package will cover three main areas: real estate financing, ethics, and fair housing.
In the financing portion of the course, we'll provide you with a thorough review of what you need to know to guide your clients through the financing process. We'll discuss the primary lending laws that are important for real estate professionals to understand, various sources of financing that clients may be able to utilize, government loan programs, and financing documents to be familiar with.
In the ethics part of our course, we'll discuss what ethics are, and what they mean to a real estate professional. To guide our class, we'll use the REALTOR® Code of Ethics. While not every real estate professional is a REALTOR®, this organization sets the industry standard for ethical behavior, and has valuable information that any real estate professional can benefit from.
The final portion of our course will focus on fair housing issues and laws. We'll begin the class with the historical background of fair housing laws, and a review of the federally protected classes. After that, we'll look at the state-specific laws and rules that Connecticut has enacted to protect other classes who are often victims of discrimination. The class will also examine several recent court cases in Connecticut which involved fair housing disputes, and we'll discuss the available methods of pursuing a fair housing complaint. We'll end the course with a discussion of liability, risk management, and a brief exam.
