Illinois Core B: Legal Issues

This is a three hour course for real estate professionals in Illinois who need to renew their licenses. The continuing education content of this course is designed to provide the training required to fulfil the Core B requirements.
This course briefly reviews some of the most important federal laws and rules affecting mortgage lending. The laws and rules that are examined are the Truth in Lending Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the TILA-RESPA Rule, and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act.
The course will discuss mortgage fraud and predatory lending practices. Included in this will be a segment on how real estate professionals and their clients can protect themselves from fraud and predatory lending.
The content of the course will explore the provisions of the Illinois Residential Real Property Disclosure Act.
This course will also include an examination of the principal laws of the state that govern actions of landlords and tenants.
The course will talk about foreclosure, the foreclosure process, and ways foreclosure can be stopped or prevented entirely.
Included in the course is a 25 question final exam that will test comprehension of the material.
