Our New Mexico-specific 8-Hour SAFE Comprehensive Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) Continuing Education Course was created to meet the demand for professional development of MLOs in New Mexico. In this course, both the state and federal aspects of mortgage loan origination, including New Mexico-specific laws, regulations, and procedures, are explored. The course is made up of several sections addressing in-depth looks into the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act), the New Mexico version of the SAFE Act, ethics for MLOs, fraud and consumer protection, lending standards for non-traditional mortgages, and updates regarding laws, regulations, and enforcement powers in mortgage loan origination. We'll also take time to go over some of the ins and out of the Truth-In-Lending-Act and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (TILA-RESPA) Integrated Mortgage Disclosure Act (TRID). Plus, in this course, you'll find quizzes and activities crafted to put your mortgage loan originating skills to the test.
