AYPO's 8-Hour North Carolina SAFE Comprehensive Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) Continuing Education Course was created in order to enable North Carolina MLOs to obtain their continuing education needs in a convenient and easily accessible manner, covering both the federal aspects of mortgage loan origination as well as North Carolina-specific laws, regulations, and procedures. Among the many essential subjects covered in this course are in-depth looks into the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act), the North Carolina SAFE laws, ethics for MLOs, fraud and consumer protection, lending standards for non-traditional mortgages, fraud and misrepresentation, subprime and high cost loans, and updates regarding laws, regulations, and enforcement powers in mortgage loan origination. We'll also take time to go over some of the ins and out of the Truth-In-Lending-Act and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (TILA-RESPA) Integrated Mortgage Disclosure Act (TRID).
