In the course, we’ll talk about the role and responsibilities of real estate brokers, including the licensing requirements. Along with a review of contract law and important real estate contract forms, we’ll cover fair housing and anti-discrimination laws, along with the common law of agency and Oregon’s agency laws.

We’ll also cover financial topics, including lending disclosures, sources of financing, and various loan programs. We’ll talk about the mathematics needed during a transaction, as well as how real property is valued and assessed for taxation.

After reviewing the process of foreclosure, we’ll talk a bit about advertising and the regulations that must be observed in real estate. We’ll discuss the customs and procedures of escrow and closing, along with financial records and reports you’ll be required to keep.

Next, we’ll cover the management of a real estate office, including hiring, supervision, and the creation of office policies. We’ll look at the Oregon statutes for property management, as well as the economics of rentals, and lease clauses. Tenant relations, recordkeeping, and anti-discrimination regulations will be reviewed as well.

After that, we’ll talk about real estate law, legal descriptions, land use controls, titles, taxes, and encumbrances on property.

The course concludes with a 60-question real estate test, as well as the 130-question test simulator to help prepare you for the exam.

Sheri has been an online instructor for AYPO's Real Estate education classes for over 5 years and is a licensed real estate instructor across the United States.

Growing up in a military family, Sheri became very patriotic, developed an adventurous spirit, and grew passionate about helping people.

In 2005 Sheri became a principal broker and opened Oregon Ranch & Home Real Estate in order to better serve her clients. She received the honor of being ranked #5 in Southern Oregon for dollar volume sold for 2008, during one of the most challenging years the market has seen in decades.
