This specially designed 8-Hour SAFE Comprehensive Mortgage Loan Originators (MLO) Continuing Education Course for South Dakota was developed for South Dakota MLOs needing to keep on top of their continuing education needs. We have organized and presented this material in a convenient and easily accessible manner. In this course, we'll cover both the state and federal aspects of mortgage loan origination as well as providing in-depth looks into the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act), ethics for MLOs, fraud and consumer protection, lending standards for non-traditional mortgages, subprime loans, and reverse mortgages. In addition, we'll provide updates regarding South Dakota's laws, regulations, and enforcement powers in mortgage loan origination. We'll also take time to review changes initiated by the Truth-In-Lending-Act and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (TILA-RESPA) Integrated Mortgage Disclosure Act (TRID). Plus, we included a variety of quizzes and activities designed to help hone your mortgage loan originating skills.
