All real estate license holders operating in Texas are required by the Texas Real Estate Commission to complete 18-hours of continuing education on topics specified by the TREC. This course will provide license holders with all of their required hours and educate on important topics.
The course will begin with a set of two four-hour courses on MCE Legal Updates. The first class in the set will cover topics such as: Legislative Changes and TREC Rule Updates, Promulgated Contract Forms and Addenda, Fair Housing, Landlord-Tenant Issues and Property Management.
The second class in the set will cover topics such as: Agency, with special attention paid to fiduciary duties and ethical behavior of license holders; Water and Mineral Rights; and Ad Valorem Taxes and Valuation.
Following this section, the next course will be a six-hour course on broker responsibility.This course covers the duties and responsibilities of a broker in many areas of work, including: fiduciary responsibilities, property management and trust accounts, delegated supervisors and teams, advertising and registration of names, written policies, and additional broker duties
After this, the next course in the package will be a three-hour course on real estate contracts. This course discusses Texas contract law and focuses on topics such as the Texas Real Estate License Act, unauthorized practice of law, promulgated contracts, general real estate contracts, leases, and the Deceptive Trade Practices Consumer Protection Act.
The final course in the package will be a one-hour course on Fair Housing. This course will begin by discussing the history of fair housing issues. It will then move on to discuss protected classes and Fair Housing Laws.
