This 9-hour course for Washington was developed to help mortgage loan originators (MLOs) maintain their professional development obligations through a smartly organized and professionally presented continuing education package. This course covers state and federal aspects of mortgage loan origination, including the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act), ethics for MLOs, fraud and consumer protection, lending standards for non-traditional mortgages, subprime loans, and reverse mortgages. Plus, this package includes a required 1-hour Washington-specific course for MLOs. You'll also find updates regarding laws, regulations, and enforcement powers in mortgage loan origination in Washington. Additionally, we'll spend time exploring the role of the Truth-In-Lending-Act and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (TILA-RESPA) Integrated Mortgage Disclosure Act (TRID). And, to test and challenge your mortgage loan originating knowledge, we've provided quizzes and activities designed to help hone your skills.

This course will expire on 6/30/2019. You must complete the course by this date in order to receive credit.

no, it was good

Add a voice track. So we could listen and read at the same time. It would be a lot easier. Also the program times out a lot.

1. Far too much historical detail that's irrelevant to day-to-day loan origination. Example: Knowing the exact date a years-old law took effect. 2. Some info was obsolete. Example: The course incorrectly asserts that appraisals are governed by the Home Valuation Code of Conduct, which has been superseded for GSE loans by the Appraiser Independence Requirements (AIR). 3. Some information was plainly incorrect. Example: “Most experts suggest that a potential buyer . . . [f]ind an appraiser who comes from that area, or perhaps a neighboring area. After all, they are paying for the service.” AIR expressly forbids home buyers from influencing the selection of appraisers. 4. The course logged me out before I was finished reading the verbose text (and before I was finished entering this review). 5. One of the quiz questions in the Washington section was graded incorrectly. The quiz answer incorrectly contended that RCWs and the SAFE Act are regulations; they are statutes, not regulations. 6. Quizzes and the final exam were very easy.
