Residential properties aren’t your only option. As a licensed agent, you can also deal with commercial real estate transactions. Commercial real estate consists of properties for business use. This could be anything from a small office to a large-scale industrial facility.
Generally, the commercial real estate cycle is slower, meaning you’ll help with the purchase or sale of fewer properties. But these properties are usually worth more money, so commercial agents commonly earn more than their residential peers.
Real estate careers aren’t confined to helping with buying and selling transactions. As a property manager, you essentially act as the liaison between the owner of a property and their tenants. That means handling everything from making sure the tenants pay rent on time to overseeing repairs should something break at the rental.
You’ll need strong communication and organizational skills in this role. Like most jobs in the real estate field, the amount you’ll earn in this role depends on how much you take on. Managing larger properties and/or more properties will help you land a bigger payday.
