24 Hour Elective Continuing Education
If you are a real estate professional in Iowa, this 24 hour continuing education course will meet the elective requirement to renew your license. This course will cover the following subjects:
This class covers Mandatory Law continuing education for real estate professionals in Iowa. The content of the class is split between concepts, such as specialization, types of property, and broker compensation, and the laws and rules of the state that govern real estate and real estate professionals.

This course is approved by a local NAR association to satisfy the NAR Code of Ethics training requirement.
This course is approved for both state and NAR credit. NAR has extended Cycle 7 through February 28, 2025, so this course will fulfill the necessary requirements for NAR renewal until that date. This course will continue to provide credit for state renewal beyond February 28, 2025.
Your Iowa real estate license will expire every three years on December 31, based on the year it was first issued.
In order to renew your license, you must complete the Iowa real estate continuing education requirements before December 31 of the year the license expires.

Note: You may complete 24 hours of continuing education online. The remaining 12 hours must be taken via live instruction.
Elective credits may also be earned by taking courses approved by the National Association of Realtors or an approved real estate course of another state, provided the material is not specific to the other state.
To receive credit for your Iowa real estate continuing education courses, you must pass a final exam for each class with a score of at least 80%. If you do not pass on the first try, you may retake the test as many times as needed in order to pass.
