Colorado 4 Hour Law (ACU) Update Course (2022)

Real estate professionals in Colorado can satisfy their state-specific mandatory requirement of 4 credit hours of Annual Commission Updates (ACU) CE needed for license renewal with this course. Topics of interest include: recent Colorado legislation; regulation updates; changes to contracts/forms; and a number of case studies related to compliance. The course material also covers various statutes and rules relating to property disclosures, competency in practice, landlord and tenants, and conflicts of interest.  

We will begin the course by looking at compliance issues, covering areas of study such as the Division of Real Estate’s investigation statistics; reporting requirements; continuing education audit statistics; and advertising guidelines and changes. 

From there, we will move into general practice issues, and these significant areas: 

- Compliance – statistics and Commission data; 

- General Practice – out of state brokers, lockboxes, and landlord and tenant issues; 

- Regulations, Contracts, Forms, and Legislation –  rule changes, contract and form changes, foreclosure, short sales, and a wrap up of other legislation of interest to brokers. 

We will also walk through several case studies during our lesson to ensure that you understand the issues just discussed.  

At intervals throughout the course, there will be multiple-choice questions to test your knowledge as you go. In addition, the CO ACU Update Course requires the completion of a 10-question final exam; brokers are required to pass with a score of 70% or higher.
